Be Conscious: Full Moon in Sagittarius

full_moon

FULL MOON REMINDER… Tuesday, July 7th at 5:21am – EDST, is the FULL MOON exact day and time in JULY! Don’t miss this chance to view your life objectively. During the three days around the Full Moon, you can see where you need to make changes in an important relationship. Once aware of your interaction, how can you best adjust your approach so that you can reach your life goals? It’s time for reevaluation.

This is the opportunity inherent in the FULL MOON. People often react emotionally during the days of the Full Moon due to a feeling of helplessness. They become aware of the distance between the way they want their life to be, and the way it currently is. Often, when they see this gap, they become upset.

The reflection from your environment shows you ‘what is’ – and this may be in stark contrast to the way you would like things to be. The empowerment is that once aware, you have the chance to change things successfully.

Because this FULL MOON occurs in the sign of CAPRICORN, the emotional energy stirred in the atmosphere is cool and calculating. There is a practical awareness of how current circumstances may not be supporting the security you need or your plans for the future.

You will be very aware of the limitations in your life that bind you through decisions based on family and a sense of protective emotional dependency. You may feel a certain coldness in your relationships. Those you are interacting with may be perceiving situations in a way that leads them to think they are not getting their way, leading to emotional drama. As is often the case with the days of the Full Moon, people get upset.

This is a powerful time (7/6-7/9) for reevaluating the new beginnings you made during the New Moon earlier this month. Re-read your wish list and notice how where you are now is either closer to – or further away from – the dreams in your heart that are important to you to manifest.

Given that this Full Moon is in the sign of CAPRICORN and combines with a LUNAR ECLIPSE, the emotional energy is likely to be even more stirred up than under the normal monthly Full Moon. You will be more aware than usual of your own needs for control of your destiny. What adjustments can you make in handling important relationships so that they become more supportive of your dreams?

The Full Moon in CAPRICORN opposes the Sun in CANCER, so what triggers upset is when people feel their basic safety needs are being threatened. Should this occur, they are likely to explode in a more forceful and rigid way than you may have expected. Step back, and allow them a temporary moment of feeling in control. Then when you show them the big picture of what is going on – what is happening with the other people involved – they will calm down.

Times during this Full Moon when the emotional intensity will be at it’s strongest:

Monday, 7/6 – all day and all night
Tuesday, 7/7 – all day and all night
Wednesday, 7/8 – all day and all night, especially volatile 5:43am – 11:03am
Thursday, 7/9 – the energy begins to calm

NYC Promoting Fear Instead of Safety

Law against us

On a lovely morning on my way to work I spot a nice sign above me showing that if we are to even think of assaulting NYC Transit personnel, we are to be locked up and thrown in jail for 7 years or less. I am thinking, why are they telling us this? Why does NYC choose to put fear in our hearts instead of making us feel safe?

“Attention MTA Passengers, please hold on to all of your belongings. ” “You are subject to random search by the police.” Is the everyday typical speaker announcements you hear riding the NYC Subway.

These announcements along with the complimentary police presence aren’t necessarily provided for us to feel “safe”.  In fact, I am always feeling scrutinized as if I am not supposed to be riding the train in the first place. All you see are advertisements saying, “If you see something, Say something.”

policepresence

I am a New Yorker, and I being fed to fear, rather than being protected.

checkpoint

Please hide your tampons, condoms or anything else you thought you could keep private.  Supposedly you are the terrorist and what a sad day it is for this type of protocol to exist just to create the thought, that we are all in trouble. So Never Forget…

Mercury Retrograde

mercury

Mercury has been retrogressing since May 7th 2009 and will continue to move backwards until May 31st. Mercury, the messenger is the ruler of communication. SO we can expect things like misunderstandings, conflicts with appointments, agreements, and even technology to be out of wack. Mercury normally turns retrograde three times a year, but this year he turns tail four times, which is unusual. The effects of each period differ, according to the sign in which it happens.

Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all means of communication, commerce, education and transportation. By extension, Mercury rules people who work in these areas, especially those who work with their minds or their wits: writers and orators, commentators and critics, gossips and spin doctors, teachers, travelers, tricksters and thieves.

Mercury retrograde gives rise to personal misunderstandings; flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. And all of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information, or component, has gone astray or awry.

It is not exactly wise to make important decisions while Mercury is retrograde, since it is likely that such decisions will be clouded by misinformation, poor communication and careless thinking. Mercury is all about mental clarity and the power of the mind, so when Mercury is retrograde these intellectual characteristics tend to be less acute than usual, as the critical faculties are dimmed. Make sure you pay attention to the small print!

MERCURY RETROGRADE IN TAURUS At 23:54 hrs UT on May 13, Mercury slips back into Taurus, the sign of the Bull. Taurus is a Fixed Sign, so the other Fixed Signs – Leo, Aquarius and especially Scorpio – will notice the developments and the effects of the Fixed Stars that are active. Mercury retro in Taurus suggests problems with the practical application of knowledge and ideas, and disruptions or communication breakdown in diplomacy, the arts and the pursuit of money, possessions and pleasure. Too much focus on the maximization of gain and of enjoyment can have the opposite effect; erratic changes can suddenly develop, much to everyone’s surprise, or even consternation. Talk fests may drone on and on, creating hoarseness as well as boredom for the participants.

To put it another way, Mercury retrograde in Taurus brings stubborn blockages connected with new ideas, powers of concentration and putting ideas into a practical format. Access to the most direct route to your goals is likely to be blocked by breakdowns in communication and unwillingness to compromise.

Mercury turns direct again at  on May 31, returning to Gemini on June 14th. The underlying energies are connected with Algol because Mercury sweeps over this difficult star three times during this phase (April 28; May 20; and June 10). On April 28 in the initial shadow period there is a dangerous square aspect in the heavens between passionate Mars and retrograde Pluto, Lord of the Underworld, associated with  Moon Wobble. Power struggles, jealousy and revenge may be the guiding forces behind some pretty intense activities. Past actions may cause obstacles that must be overcome before current actions can succeed. Anger aroused under this influence can be formidably destructive, but transformed into positive energy, it can produce formidable accomplishments.

So be wise, be patient and be mindful of what the universe is going through. Smile and do only things that are beneficial for your well being.

Peace!

Pluto Retrograde

pluto

Pluto, the ruling planet of Scorpio, is a planet representing death and rebirth. Pluto is a planet of obsessions, extremity and disintegrative overhauling. Therefore, Pluto is considered a “transpersonal”, an extramundane, spiritual planet, reflecting a function that is beyond one-self and beyond social structures.  A whopping 248 years must pass here on Earth before Pluto completes a single cycle of rotation around the Sun. Pluto spends, on average, twenty-one years in each Sign and five months out of the year in retrograde. In between its regular cycle and retrograde Pluto rests stationary for up to seventeen days, depending on the season.

So when Pluto is in retrograde (April 4th 2009 – September 11 2009),  it is far more intense, it possesses a higher degree of concentration and it, therefore, gives greater insights into the subconscious. Because of this intensity, the individual can see much more than normally possible and it is easy to become suspicious of the motives of others. The powers of regeneration are far greater when retrograde. People with a natal retrograde Pluto tends to have a tremendous ability to overcome major illnesses that might otherwise cause permanent disability. Be mindful, retrograde motion is always directed toward inner activity such as the psyche or psychological patterns that affect the physical body. Direct motion, on the other hand, is directed towards external circumstances.

Under any Pluto transit, we feel pressured to eliminate and release the old, outworn, outdated and obsolete in our lives.

When Pluto is transiting retrograde, we are urged to let go of attitudes, thinking or communication patterns, security drives, rigid emotions; a time to undergo an internal form of house cleaning. It is a good time to research into our own Souls in order to determine exactly what we do or do not need. Because Pluto retrograde imparts an intense power for investigation, we should use this time to assess what reoccurring patterns in our lives make us feel out of control, where and why do we continually give our power away, and under what circumstances do we react so defensively that we elicit attacks from others.

Pluto retrograde marks a time wherein we should seek to gain greater control over our personal life

Pluto direct is better for gaining control over professional and financial areas. My most frequent observation of Pluto retrograde is that many people do seek some form of regenerative activity. I have seen people undertake a series of internal cleanings, detoxifying diets, Eastern disciplines that put them in touch with the inner self and even intense psychological reforms.

CRITICAL DATES:

  • PLUTO-MARS: APRIL 26-27; AUGUST 25-26 2009 – Pluto- Mars be intense and even obsessive mentally. When afflicted, we are urged to resist external pressure, control or manipulation by others. Do not act under pressure.
  • PLUTO-VENUS: APRIL 2-3 2009 – This indicates a need to change attitudes in relating. Money and relating can become complicated.

Take time to be introspective and eliminate what you must. This situation, although intense at times, is also very great for those who are soul searching, seeking truths, and growing as individuals.

Peace!

What’s the Symbolism behind Doctor Manhattan?

Doctor Manhattan

Doctor Manhattan

Everyone is subconsciously intrigued by Doctor Manhattan because of his outlook on humanity and life as a whole. His poetic speech and “Christ like” personality draw him apart from the other Watchmen Characters. I never read comic books as a child and I saw the film without knowing the plot but immediately I became intrigued by the story and the psychological views of the characters.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with who Dr. Manhattan is I will give you a brief description, he is one of the flawed “superheroes” from the twelve issue comic book limited series “Watchmen” created by Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons and John Higgins.

Watchmen 2009

Watchmen 2009

Dr. Manhattan’s true name is Jon Osterman, Jon meaning “Gift of God” and Osterman, Oster meaning “one who was baptized or born during Easter” to Germans as well as “Sharp” or “Sharp-minded” to the Polish. Therefore he was a “Christ-like, sharp-minded man” (notice the details in his crucified body language).

Jon Osterman’s father was a watchmaker and in the film Jon was being taught how to break apart and re-build a watch, training him to be a “watch man” so to speak, however, following the destruction of Hiroshima by an atom bomb, the elder Osterman decided that his son’s future depended upon his success in the new “atomic age”. Jon attended Princeton University, graduating ten years later with a Ph.D in atomic physics.

Transformation

Transformation

While working at a nuclear research center, Jon was accidentally locked into a test chamber two minutes before midnight, trapping him in an “Intrinsic Field Subtractor” in 1959. Looking down at his watch, the time became 12AM and the transformation happened, turning him into a blue-skinned super-powered being and he became a contracted superhero by the United States government, with the special name, “Doctor Manhattan”. In the film he described this moment being, “The last time he felt fear.” He was no longer human, rather a soul and a spiritual being. He is the only character in the story who possesses real superpowers. He can transport on Earth and into the Universe, He can increase in size and number and he is a clairvoyant psychic.

Now Allow Me to Delve into the Symbolism

Color: The Color Blue represents truth, wisdom, heaven, eternity, devotion, tranquility, loyalty and openness. Doctor Manhattan represented everything the color blue depicts. His calm demeanor and God-like expressions through body language and speech reflected this.

Bulletin Stomic Scientists Cover

Bulletin Atomic Scientists Cover

Midnight: The number 12 denotes spiritual strength and divine perfection. In my translation to the symbol on his forehead represented the time being midnight. In mythology, symbols and folklore midday and midnight are temporal turning points that have special significance. “You know, Cinderella will turn back into a peasant and her luxurious horse and carriage will turn into fruit.” The esoteric perception of midnight is the time when the spiritual (in contrast to the physical) sun stands at the zenith, midnight therefore, is associated with contemplation, initiation, spiritual knowledge and insight. More interesting is the correlation with the Nuclear War, the main fear in the plot of the Watchmen film. According to the book, “Nuclear Fear: A History of Images” by Spencer Wert, There was the “Clock of Doom”, this clock was featured on the cover of every issue of the “Bulletin Atomic Scientists”. The clock was first appeared in 1947 set as seven minutes to midnight and the editors put it forward to two minutes before midnight in 1953 when the hydrogen bombs arrived. The clock of doom  image, ignoring what would happen after the clock struck twelve, had a clear symbolism: Nuclear midnight meant the end of time. For any of you who have saw the film notice how he represented the nuclear bomb, at least that’s what everyone thought. Hope this helps and gave you a better understanding on our mystery man Doctor Manhattan, the Christ Like, Self Sacrificing, Peaceful, Introspective Super Hero.

Venus in Retrograde

Venus

Planet Venus

In Astronomy, the scientific study of celestial objects, there are stars, planets, asteroids, galaxies, the Universe as we know it. One of our beautiful planets, also known as the Earths “sister planet” because of its size and gravity, is Venus. Named after the Roman Goddess of Love, Venus rules feelings and emotions, aesthetics and tastes, relationships and all forms of desire, such as money, wealth, and/or beautiful surroundings.

Retrograde, or retrogress, means that something is moving backwards. In the universe our planets move both forward and  then backwards. Venus does this every one and a  half years in different zodiac constellations. Depending on what zodiac constellation Venus retrogresses in, determines how it affects the human species. All planets have a natural influence on the way humans think and feel. One might wonder, “How can planets moving backwards have an affect on us?” Well, just like the celestial universe, we too, are made up of the same things as them.

venus retrograde

In General the retrograde of Venus rules and affects social behavior and attitudes, governing partnerships and romance affecting everything that has to do with the pursuit of pleasure. So when Venus moves backwards the pace of relationships slow down, visual sensibilities are reduced, and what Venus governs, becomes less significant to us. Venus also rules diplomacy so most of the time there’s procrastination of  industrial disputes, diplomatic endeavors and legal issues. Typically, our problems from the past come back into thought and we will feel determined to find a resolve. We start to feel it is a perfect time to take care of unfinished business. We may feel coerced to deal with deep feelings that originate from past events. These feelings are activated on an inner level but are often difficult to express to ourselves or others while Venus is retrograde.

Venus Retrograde in 2009 starts off in Aries from March 6th. When Venus is in retrograde, everyone’s emotional state is more introspective and we tend to react emotionally to the issues and concerns that relate to the sign, “Aries” involved. With Venus retrograde in early Aries, people with this sign prominent in their birth charts will be especially prone to such introspection. Aries is a Cardinal Sign, so it also has a notable affect on those with the other cardinal signs prominent in their charts. Cardinal Signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. There is little choice but to reconsider our personal feelings and relationships. There is, however, an opportunity to gain insight into ones own mode of relating, whether sexually, creatively, or financially.

According to Astrology.com, Venus in Aries is affectionate and imaginative, idealistic, yet changeable in feelings and romantic in love. Since matters from the past tend to come forward during the retro phase, an old flame, or reminiscences of lost love, may reappear. Aries brings popularity with the opposite sex, though in the retro phase a more fated or destined feel suffuses the atmosphere as we rush to embrace relationships of all kinds. During this time we find that we enjoy having fun and our passionate eagerness can be inspiring and contagious, but some people now will perceive us as being rude and demanding. The combative nature of Aries means we can be too aggressive in forcing our attentions or affections on others. Also we should do our best to resist the urge to general financial extravagance. We must refrain from overeating rich or starchy foods, but also we need to be careful not indulge in faddish diets or skin and kidney problems may arise.

Venus Ends Retrograde on April 17th in the Pisces constellation. Although Venus turns retrograde in Aries (the sign of her detriment), she does so in the early degrees of the Ram and soon retrogrades into Pisces, the sign of her exaltation. When Venus moves back into Pisces on April 11, 2009, deep feelings can be awakened, especially for those who have Mutable Signs strong in their charts. Mutable Signs are Pisces, Virgo, Gemini and Sagittarius. This year Venus makes her direct station in the final degree of Pisces, in conjunction with the Fixed Star, Scheat, which is likely to bring out the worst in human relationships and financial discord, primarily through our own misguided actions. Under this influence, our social attitudes and behaviors are profoundly influenced by our emotions. Dramatic engagements will be the flavor of the week! Reminiscences of lost love can turn to dangerous levels of fantasy. Be careful, because you can be severely hurt if a relationship, especially one from the past, fails, something which can then incline you to be reluctant when it comes to making new associations. An overdose of compassion and sensitivity makes it difficult to be discriminating in choosing companions. Beware of attracting those who will take advantage of you. The good thing about the direct station is that it provides the ideal opportunity to make valuable decisions on relationships and interactions in general with regard to the direction you will take in the future – at least until the next Venus Retrograde in October 2010!

So be patient and be kind, nostalgia is normal and love will be going through its logical stages right now which can be beneficial. Because in the very least we can decipher what we need, what we really desire, and then make decisions accordingly.

Peace!

A Little Privacy Please?

What You Doin'?

What You Doin'?

So Today I finally discovered what Twitter.com is all about; It is website used as a status updater for people to “follow”.  Now, I am not judging those who use it, because hey, some people either want to be seen, and/or for some it can be useful for people who are constantly checking their cell phones for the next email and/or text message. For me, a little blog and a private facebook and myspace account with a cell phone do me just fine.

Something about anyone seeing my every mood and availability in real time on the web makes me feel more spotted than the satellites in the sky make me feel. After seeing and internalizing Eagle Eye, not only did it make me want to cancel my cable and social website accounts, I also wanted to get rid of my cell phone and even now, I find myself occasionally powering off my brand new cable box that for some reason was coerced upon me having in order for my television to function.

I enjoy utilizing the web, I truly do. I can share information, network, inspire others, research, get hired for jobs, find jobs to apply to, pay bills, find old friends and many other resourceful reasons that just simply make my life easier. However, Twitter?, not interested in the obvious,” Guess what I am doing now!” because just in case you don’t already know who I am dating or who I have flirted with, what my favorite books and music are and what friends I have, here is a little more information…

Lyric at 9:22PM on Saturday Feb 28th 2009 is blogging away about lack of privacy we have and the interesting sites that are used to keep us dishing out some more info
