NYC Promoting Fear Instead of Safety

Law against us

On a lovely morning on my way to work I spot a nice sign above me showing that if we are to even think of assaulting NYC Transit personnel, we are to be locked up and thrown in jail for 7 years or less. I am thinking, why are they telling us this? Why does NYC choose to put fear in our hearts instead of making us feel safe?

“Attention MTA Passengers, please hold on to all of your belongings. ” “You are subject to random search by the police.” Is the everyday typical speaker announcements you hear riding the NYC Subway.

These announcements along with the complimentary police presence aren’t necessarily provided for us to feel “safe”.  In fact, I am always feeling scrutinized as if I am not supposed to be riding the train in the first place. All you see are advertisements saying, “If you see something, Say something.”

policepresence

I am a New Yorker, and I being fed to fear, rather than being protected.

checkpoint

Please hide your tampons, condoms or anything else you thought you could keep private.  Supposedly you are the terrorist and what a sad day it is for this type of protocol to exist just to create the thought, that we are all in trouble. So Never Forget…

If Your Heart’s Filled With Faith Then You Can’t Fear

Fear

FEAR: a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.

We fear the unknown, we fear what people tell us we should fear, we fear being alone, we fear taking chances and at times we fear so much that we don’t follow our instincts.

We are taught to fear at a young age. Fear is taught by parents, churches, politicians, teachers, pharmaceuticals (people as we know it) as a form of behavior modification. If you do not “follow the rules” or “agree”, “these bad things can happen to you.”

Following childhood, we almost get addicted to fear, we are trained through media and the people we look up to to “restrict and/or limit” ourselves. I wouldn’t say we have no part of this, I am not a psychologist but I do believe that fear is  also a natural feeling we get from something unexpected, perhaps a loud noise after a a few seconds of a quiet atmosphere, or when you lose something that is valuable, be it money that helps us take care of ourselves. Whatever is uncertain can be  nerve-wrecking for many people, especially ones who like to keep things organized and have full control.

How Can We Overcome Fear?

According to The Secret and What the Bleep Do We Know, there should be a balance between our thoughts. More importantly we should have and maintain a ”positive” way of thinking. As Human beings we are powerful and we can manifest things with our thoughts. This I can relate to with spirituality and having faith. Trusting, your Universe, Creator, or God, to take care of you and/or your situations.

From my experience, praying, talking to myself in confidence, asserting positive energy, trusting that everything will work out eventually, and being brave allows me to overcome obstacles. It’s okay to cry, ok to be afraid however, do not forget that EVERYTHING we experience is temporary. There is Nothing to fear. Here is a nice quote from the Bible, a wise, spiritual, and humbling book.

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.

Why Eating Like a Vegan Can Save Your Life

Veggie Lover

Here is a thought… Natural vegetation promotes healthy cells. Real living substances, nourishes the body and detoxifies at the cellular level. One must consume life to maintain and sustain itself-not Death.

In America consumerism, we are enticed by double stuffed Oreos, 100 calorie junk food packs, All jiggly flavors of Jello gelatin, and more chemically created foods than ever before. We were born into this way of life. We eat whatever we want and become tricked into believing consuming bad foods are healthy for us. We become bamboozled by commercials suggesting fast foods promote a “healthy way of life”. From meats being very affordable, to easy access of 24 hour fast food chains, I will show and prove that not even the milk we drink (Advertised as “Does a Body Good!”) is good for us.

Now and days we believe anything “Natural” is ridiculous, we believe everything doctors tell us because we have faith “they know what’s best”. Some of us are so stubborn and lazy that we don’t even look into the hazardous substances that are imposed on us. This ranges from Medicinal Drugs for any and everything: Flu Shots to Immunizations, Suggested Caesarean Sections, and special diets or specific foods they suggest we eat. There is no better way to eat than the all natural way.

Many of the diseases we developed are results of poor eating. Day after day we consume processed foods, meats and dairy from sources unknown, and these consumptions have no nutritional value. Many of us eat to indulge and satisfy our taste buds. Most of the foods we eat have no nutritional value and advertisements will make us believe that when we choose their product, we will be healthy.

The government has even allowed an advertising campaign which according to CBS, costs anywhere from 20-30 Million Dollars, by the Corn Refiners Association to persuade people High Fructose Corn syrup is actually good for you. See commercial below.

Notice how she says, “And it’s fine in moderation.”

A Blog on The Dangers of High Fructose Corn Syrup

Problems Caused by Too Much HFCS

  • It can lead to higher caloric intake
  • It can lead to an increase in body weight
  • Increase of appetite
  • It increases the amount of processed foods you eat, thereby decreasing your intake of nutrient-dense foods
  • It may increase insulin resistance and triglycerides

Now Back to Veganism.

Here are two informative and disturbing clips of a documentary I saw in 2008.

In many cases with beef or cows food grows scarce for them, when this becomes a problem, the laborers feed them their own kind, the sick cows that passed and/or dogs (I’ve seen footage),. This causes diseases and cancers to increase in human beings such as Alzheimer’s disease and many others. Every day we develop a cancer cell in our body, it is then awaiting a natural food for our body to consume in order to sustain its health.

Does Milk Really DO Your Body Good?

In the documentary I saw a year ago, there was one situation with an old lady , a jogger and a doctor, Ruth Heidrich, who became diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She had surgery, however, the cancer already spread throughout her body. Doctors recommended she get radiation and chemotherapy, common sense told her radiation will only spread the cancer cells and make it worse. She saw five different doctors and the fifth had a resolution. He asked her about her eating habits and she explained she ate Fish, Chicken, 1% Milk, No Red Meat…and he stopped her replying, “Well there you go.” After she changed her diet with all natural foods her body healed on its own and now she looks extremely youthful and radiant. Click here to read Dr. Ruth’s interview

Being a Vegan can without any questions or doubt improve your health and heal everything doctors are supposed to cure. A doctor will never give a suggestion on how to prevent disease, they can only be successful in business when they can promote medicines and try to fight diseases.

Disclaimer: I am not telling those with diseases how to cure themselves, I am only shedding light so you can prevent them from happening to you. Eating healthy improves your lifestyle in ways you couldn’t imagine.

Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal

logo

After updating my cable from basic to “Everything Exciting”, and surfing through many different channels, I came across the Biography Channel. A very informative documentary/reality style based channel. On this channel was an intriguing show called, “Psychic Kids: Children of  the Paranormal”. This show, originally broadcast on A&E, is about a Man, Chip Coffey, A skilled Psychic and Medium who teams up with other adult skilled Psychic and Mediums’ with different gifts as a means to  assist children who fear and/or don’t understand their psychic abilities.

What makes me appreciate this show is the fact that it allows parents and children from all over the United States to come together to interact and participate in discussions about these gifts and in doing so, they eventually confront and understand their experiences, fears, doubts, uncontrolled paranormal senses, and skepticism’s. So often,  the children themselves question their intellect hopeful that they are not insane while wishing other people around them, including friends can understand them.

So far I have seen about three episodes of the first and only season. Each episode has me stuck to the channel so that I won’t miss the next scene. Many of you are probably wondering whether or not there will be another season. Well, according to sources, A&E is debating on whether or not to do a second season. So please be informed, on the website that is listed below, there is room for casting so if your child is a medium don’t hesitate to apply. It could be a beneficial experience for you and your child.

Each episode typically features three confused children with various gifts, some of them, have a hard time understanding how to develop and control their sixth sense, and others have an overwhelming sadness feeling lost and afraid.

A meeting amongst Lisa, Chip, Psychic Kids and their parents

Lisa Miller and Chip Coffey

With the help of  Medium Chip Coffey who has earned a Masters in Psychology and Psychologist and Columbia University professor, Dr. Lisa Miller, each child and parent receive a confirmation through facts and seances, coinciding with their child’s intuitive informative revelations, that their children do indeed have clairvoyant gift. Part of Dr. Miller’s role is to evaluate the child’s mental health as well as help the children and families deal with any inter-family conflict they may be experiencing. Cases are screened in great detail to make sure that what a child claims to be experiencing isn’t from a psychological disorder. Medium Chip Coffey utilizes both his abilities in the paranormal and his Masters Degree in Psychology when he deals with children who are showing signs of possessing psychic and medium abilities. Chip aims to help the children with the supernatural phenomenon he or she is experiencing and in turn teaches them how to manage this lifelong gift along with the burdens that sometimes go along with the paranormal abilities. With every outcome the children feel relieved when they realize they are not alone and they conquer their fears.

“From seeing dead people to frightening abilities to predict the future, Chip and Lisa will uncover the truths and help the terrified and gifted. In the end, “Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal,” is an intense journey of a medium and a psychologist, who draw on their own personal experiences, training, and unique outlook on life to teach troubled kids how to deal with what they often feel is a curse, as much as a unique and special gift.”

To Control or not Control, That is the Question

Control

At a young age we are taught to control ourselves. We are taught to behave a certain way, speak a certain way, eat a certain way and do things a certain way. This cultivates our beings and as the years go by and we practice these methods we were taught, in turn, we want to control other people and/or situations around us.

My name is Meaghan and I have a confession, just the other day I realized I want to be in control. “What an epiphany”, I thought to myself. I wanted to entrench the minds of my loved ones and convince them with why, thinking like me or understanding me better, can help them and our relationships. Now when I failed in my many attempts to persuade, I noticed it ate me alive inside. “How and why can’t things go my way”, I repeatedly thought to myself. I became angry, hopeless, frustrated, sad, and depressed. It was then, inside my mind and heart, I knew I do not and will never have the ability to control people or the world around me. I am only in control of myself. My actions, my behavior, my environment. Even this can be a difficult task in the end.

controlHow can we change our minds? After all these years of practicing control, how can we un-learn and teach ourselves a new perspective on life? Well, I have some suggestions, good ones.

Here are a two questions to ask yourself:

  1. Do you get frustrated, sad or depressed when things don’t go your way?
  2. Do you really believe that you can control others opinions, thoughts, feelings and the situations that you are in?

This might be a tricky question for some. Be clear, that one of our greatest powers is through communication. That yes, we can plant seeds (good thoughts, words of wisdom, reasons for why things happened, etc) However, the outcome of  people understanding us at the same level or feeling the same way, may not always be reached overnight. I am learning this and want to instill in all of you that the universe always works itself out. There is no denying that what we put out is what we get back and although it seems that life just isn’t fair, we must understand that everything is working out for the greater good. With every negative experience, there is a positive, blessings in disguise that we have no idea are going to enter our lives. It is best for us, to be patient with ourselves, embrace what life has to offer and NEVER I Mean NEVER give up or let your guard down and always choose the better option. It is a challenge to change others, we even have a hard time changing ourselves.

In the end, all you have ever done will show. All your good deeds, remain good, and all of your future possibilities are open. Open up to receive all blessings and plant as many seeds as you can. Think before you retaliate, and the answer is to not control, but to re-think and have faith that everything will eventually work itself out.

Media Brainwash – Social Programming to define and divide the sexes

Battle of the Sexes

Subliminal messages have always been one of medias biggest charms. The medias job is to program us with images and language over and over again to make us believe that what we see is real and what we want is what they make appealing; thus the term media or medea is the Goddess of trickery, magic, and deceit. Now not all media is bad, it simply puts us in a fairytale land and sometimes makes us feel good however, we should be mindful what to digest and what to know isn’t real, therefore we don’t have to mimic the media.  See here for a brief description of Medea’s myth

Medea Magic

One of the Infamous messages rely on the depiction of the ideal man, hero, and the ideal woman, heroine. This programming is viewed every single day by Americans and below I will show you some images that have us hypnotized by power, sex and the constant struggle of domination be it by a man or woman. Sadly, our culture has become poisoned by our media in many ways. The “Battle of the Sexes” being one of them.  Here take a look…

Heroinecatwoman

Heroine

1. a: a mythological or legendary woman having the qualities of a hero

b: a woman admired and emulated for her achievements and qualities

2. a: the principal female character in a literary or dramatic work
b: the central female figure in an event or period

Herohercules

Hero

1. a: a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability

b: an illustrious warrior

c: a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities

d: one that shows great courage

2 a: the principal male character in a literary or dramatic work

b: the central figure in an event, period, or movement

Here are a few images to ponder upon…

Anything you can do I can do better...

In my opinion, women and men should build each other up in support of one another, not “battle” or “compete” with each other. Here are three youtube videos that delve into this subject in great detail. It will be approximately less than 30 minutes of your time. Feel free to share points of views and comments.
